I mean its a flight sim, limiting it to 30 minutes or even an hour would make more sense.

I expected a lot from XP11 having seen and read a few things and seen the hype in here but the demo really left me cold.

I played the tutorial missions and on the pattern one the demo just timed out mid flight so I didnt even get to put her back down again.

The other ones were literally about 5 minute segments, barely enough to even judge anything from.

I thought Id jump in something else and try a big jet (Im used to single seat fighters after all) but had no idea which airport it chose and every one that I did chose just spawned me at some blank space with an airstrip or at a runway which looked like it was straight out of the 90s in terms of graphics.

Am I missing something here I want to give it another go, so any tips would be muchly appreciated - like how to get a proper feel for the game from the demo.

This is tougher on systems than Arma3 and thats saying something.

Managed to fumble my way around the cockpit enough to trim it into level flight at around 10,000 feet and tried not to look at the gazillion switches and buttons, luckily the regular flight controls are pretty much the same for all planes.

Had a different experience with it and quite enjoyed it.

Large AP around those larger cities tend to cause more resource use.

Settings below. 1 Share Report Save level 2 4 years ago Yeah I found x-plane 11 had a pretty big performance hit, im waiting to see what things can be tweaked to improve it.

X-plane 10 there were a lot of datarefs you could mess around with to get good FPS, some of those might carry over.

What settings were you using Sounds like they werent very high.

You can buy planes much like DCS, though they are more 3rd party than DCS.

If stock planes are kinda crap then how to I get a feel for this game from the demo if all I have is stock planes Because to be quite honest the demo pretty much put me off the game rather than pulling me in and its not like I dont like flying and flight sims.

Im honestly not sure, I flew the 172 and had a crack in a passenger liner, cant remember which I didnt even look.

That was actually quite good internally - managed to figure out the start sequence ok - but I was spawned at this runway in the middle of an infinite sea.

It was odd and without any landmarks, airports etc it really put me off.

I suggest setting up the controls and everything you want, and then restarting the demo for your flight.

Keep in mind that youre not going to be doing full flights with the demo.

Think of the XP11 default Cessna 172 as the TF-51 of X-Plane.

The other default aircraft are currently of varying quality (and will probably be brought up to that standard in the future), most of them are pretty good though.

Which interior did you find to be disappointing A comparison to DCS is hard to make as they have different goals and challenges.
